Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

The game started on time. Both captains were edging to start a game of cricket considering the awesome and rare sunshine. Clydesdale Cav's won the toss and elected to bat.

Anniesland started their attack with Al Miller and Abhay Andar. Initial couple of drop catches gave their opening batsmen some confidence, but an amazing contribution by Al 'Express' Miller and a stunning caught and bowled by the skip Abhay Andar opened the gates to a complete melt down of wickets. This was followed by a stunning performance with the ball by debutant Chris Brennan who took 3 wickets and our very own spin king Eggie D who finished with 4 wickets.

The opposition had a lot of young talent. Their opening bowlers were getting a lot of movement. Choudhary looked like a promising talent for the future.

This however posed no problem for our opening batsmen Niel Dowers and Brian Dundas, who had a great partnership of approximately 70 runs and we finished the game on a high when Roddy Kelso scored the last runs with a blinding 6 over deep mid wicket.

This was a great start to the new season. And Anniesland are keen to keep the points building.
