Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

Did this match create any new records I wonder?

No complaints about the effort and application from the venerable Windy Edgers, who stuck to their task on a hot, humid and altogether difficult day in the field.  Accies were simply blown away by superior opponents - although the match was surprisingly enjoyable, in spite of the result, and played in a great spirit throughout by both teams.

Windyedge's man of the match award goes to R Russell - 10 runs with the bat (sound technique against spin) and an economical 2 wicket haul (bowling the single maiden in the first innings). Other highlights were 22 well constructed runs for A Morris at the top of the order, a classy 14 not out from McLaren and an electric spell of bowling from Sahib. A Cochrane also made a welcome return to captaincy duties for the day (I know we only had 9 fielders Alex but where was the slip cordon?)
