Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

An inexperienced Accies 12 (yes ham, that's t-w-e-l-v-e) went down to the uni staff in the autumn sunshine. With the 2s at St Michaels and the core of the development squad winning the Berwick 6s it was left to Fritzy, Kash "none-for" Rashid, Alex and Haydn to provide the experience.

Kash and Keshev Kanaber, two of the eight Sunday League debutants, opened the bowling with Keshev removing Paul Bartlett early on. Both put the ball the in the right place and, with the aid of some rugby-length grass, restricted the batsmen to ones and twos.

Lots of fairly tidy bowling followed, before Hugh Bell and McDonald moved the score along with the help of some full tosses.

Ten bowlers were used, and Chris and Zuhayr both picked up a wicket as the staff finished just shy of 200.

With the bat Nirvik Ganapathi played a couple of good on-drives while Tom Bonnington held up one end, but otherwise a lot of straight balls were missed as Ian Holland took 5-5. At one point Accies lost 7 wickets for just 10 runs and finished slightly adrift of the target.
