Match report

Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.

Usually I have to report lots of Accies' wickets falling but tonight was the exception leaving 7 of the team without an opportunity to bat.  That's cricket I'm afraid but more often than not everyone gets a go.  To make matters worse the rains arrived and only 11 overs of the second innings were possible before the match was abandoned leaving three of the team that didn't get a bowl either.  Unfortunate to say the least.

As far as the game went Accies posted a respectable score of 98 with Hamish Campbell, Cameron Russell and Mark Forbes in the runs although on occasions they really should try to miss the fielders rather than gently stroking the ball straight to them.  Poloc then produced their firepower in the second innings - big, powerful lads but the Accies' fielding was excellent and the game was in the balance until the fateful decision was made to call a halt to proceedings.  On this showing it is remarkable that the team is at the foot of the league.
