Match report
Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.
With exams hitting hard it was necessary to bolster the team with five of our U11's for this match and what a contribution they made. Clydesdale was always going to be a tough match and with strong batting line up their lads put up an imposing 116 with Alex Hume posting a 33 retired not out score.
On past performance this was going to be a tough ask for the Accies' lads but the diminutive Thomas Aston made a quick fire 29 including a 6 ably supported by Simon McAlpine-Scott [11] and Lewis Gilkison [15]. At 52 for 1 after 13 overs the lads were reasonably placed but then the batting collapsed - again. Lewis Gilkison was best with the ball with 4-0-12-2.
Considering the average age of Accies this was not a bad result in the circumstances but it could have been a lot better after the promising start to the batting.
