Match report
Match reports are the views of the author, and not necessarily those of the club.
Chaos reigned in the car park at Accies as Corrie Dick and Connor McInteer both called off with 30 minutes to go. A couple of calls meant Euan Crawford [for the second time!] and Ross McColl travelled to Ayr after Dobbin had diverted to Bearsden. A full 11 took the park at Cambusdoon.
A typical [and sadly brief] innings from Charlie McNaught assisted by Scott Young put on 52 by the 7th over followed by a very brief knock by Ali Crawford. The Revie brothers then steadied the ship taking the score on to 89 before both fell in quick succession. Tom Sutton and Habib Malik then denied the remainder of the Accies' players any batting practice. 115 was respectable if not out of sight although several singles were missed and a couple of three's were turned into two's.
Steady opening spells by Scott Young and Euan Crawford put early pressure on the Ayr youngsters and then Habib Malik carried on the good work after replacing Scott. A couple of easy dropped catches and one very difficult chance allowed the Ayr team to get back in the hunt but some decent field placings by skipper Crawford meant Ayr needed to score at 11 an over for the final 4 overs. Wickets tumbled but they got to within 7 runs making it a decent contest.
A long overdue Accies' win!
