Tonight's all round performance was much more like one would expect from an Accies' U18 team even though eight of the team were U15's.
A whirlwind innings of 44 from 33 balls by Scott Young saw the scoreboard rattle to 47 from the first 6 overs of Accies' innings after which a semblance of normality returned to proceedings. Poor Tom Bonnington rested on his bat handle picking up an odd single here and there in solid support. Both fell within successive balls in the tenth over whereupon Habib Malik and Iain McCallum continued the good work taking the score to 108 with the innings finally closing on 119.
Scott and Euan Crawford then bowled tight line and length creating much pressure on the Motherwell youngsters. A solitary straight 6 was the only boundary conceded whilst Habib picked up 4 scalps with Euan and Tom Sutton taking one each. Needing 62 from the final over proved just too much for the Motherwell batsmen and Accies collected the 2 points in style.
