On a pleasant if unusually overcast evening at Glenpark Ali Crawford and his team decided to insert Greenock [including their U18 overseas amateur!] and paid the price! Greenock racked up 177 for the loss of only 4 wickets with the amateur cruising to an undefeated 53 - certainly an accomplished looking batsman if not so accomplished looking a bowler. The greenock total included no less than 21 boundaries and a couple of "all run" fours! accies lads also gave away too many wides and byes although the many of the byes could easily have been counted as wides.

Whilst Charlie McNaught who opened was at the wicket the total looked achievable and he looked every bit as good as Greenock's amateur. When he was out however the forepower ceased although Ali Crawford and especially Scott Young made invaluable contributions to the Accies reply.

In the end it was a comfortable win by Greenock but there were some plus points to take away from this match.
